On behalf of the OASFAA and OCAN Conference Planning Committee, we cordially invite you to attend 2011 Winter Conference. This is our 2nd annual conference with the Ohio College Access Network (OCAN).  We are excited for another year to be joining OCAN and uniting for the success of students attending Ohio schools.

This year’s theme is "Together We Can….Unite for Student Success.” In support of this collaboration, we want to take every opportunity to provide inclusive financial aid and college access training that supports the combined missions of OASFAA and OCAN. On opening day, Monday, December 12, 2011, we will celebrate "Spirit Day" and ask conference attendees to wear shirts from the respective institutions/organizations to represent our collaborative efforts to ensure access and success for students across Ohio.

We are pleased to announce two special key note addresses for our opening and closing sessions. On Monday, December 12, Ms. Tally Hart, Senior Advisor for Economic Access, The Ohio State University, will join us to reiterate our role as advocates for student success in a changing higher education environment. On Wednesday, December 14, we will hear remarks from Chancellor Jim Petro, Ohio Board of Regents – University System of Ohio as he shares updates on education policy as it relates to affordability and access to higher education.

Monday evening, we will have on site entertainment, “Zoo Night on Site” and welcome reception, following dinner.

In addition, we have put together an extensive training schedule for you that includes;

  • NASFAA Training [Satisfactory Academic Progress];
  • Need Analysis training track;
  • Outreach training track;
  • Regulatory Updates;
  • Federal Update by the U.S. Department of Education;
