Spring 2008 Town Hall Meeting

During the 2007-08 executive year, OASFAA’s Association and Governance Committee chairs reviewed documents that had been created in 1997 and updated again in 2004.  As the executive committee looks ahead once again in setting the course for OASFAA, we seek your input in the direction of your association.

The Spring Conference at Sawmill Creek provided OASFAA an opportunity to host a town hall meeting. The meeting focused on the guiding principles and the Association’s core functions as outlined in the long-range plan. The meeting’s mission was not to make decisions. Rather, the gathering allowed those in attendance to review the documents and see the crossroads reached in order to remain proactive in OASFAA’s planning and direction.

Participants discussed the future of the Association and making sure we are prepared.  Thanks to all members who asked questions, raised points to consider and were willing to speak out in front of others. For those who attended but needed to digest all the information, remember you can still email your feedback!

YOUR CONTINUED FEEDBACK IS KEY
It is important is to not only hear from those who were at the spring conference but also offer all members an opportunity to share their thoughts about where OASFAA should be headed. Please take some time to review the linked items above and then provide feedback so that your executive committee continues to move in a direction that is in the best interest of the organization.

One suggestion made at the town hall was to create a survey. The 2008-09 executive committee will be taking this task on and will be asking you complete a survey instrument in the months ahead.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks,
Betsy Johnson
2008-09 OASFAA President
