OASFAA membership is required. NASFAA membership is not required to take the credential test, but non-members will need to create a free myNASFAA account in order to take the credential test. Please review the NASFAA Credential Workshop information available here.
Cost = $50 (includes workshop access, study guides, presentation, voucher to be used to obtain access to the credential test, lunch, and refreshments). Space is limited and registration will be restricted to the first 35 registrants.
Payment must be received by the OASFAA Workshop Registrar, Carrie Short, before access to the workshop room will be granted. Payments will be accepted onsite (check, credit card. If you bring cash, you must have the exact amount. We are unable to make change on site.). If you/your institution is mailing a check, be sure to allow enough time for it to be received and processed by the OASFAA Workshop Registrar, Carrie Short, or you will need to pay in person on the day of the workshop. This workshop covers the fundamentals of the Federal Direct Student Loan (Direct Loan) programs, including loan types, loan features, and borrower eligibility. With this foundation, learners will then gain an understanding of the calculation of loan amounts, including frequency of borrowing, annual and aggregate loan amounts, application of the 150 percent limitation on borrowing Direct Subsidized Loans, and proration. Upon completion of this workshop, you will be qualified to take the credentialing exam on Direct Loans. (A voucher for the cost of the exam will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop.)
